Sword of a Thousand Truths

So, I'm not an "MMORPG" guy. I probably never will be. The highly repetitive nature of the quests, replaying missions over and over again and then starting a new character just to replay the same crap with a slightly different load out just doesn't appeal to me. I played some Guild Wars, I played some World of Warcraft. Those games just were not my thing. Plus I would honestly rather spend the subscription money on a different game each month and get some good variety. At is point you are probably wondering why I am blabbing on about MMO's if I don't like them. The answer is simple...

Neverwinter released on Xbox One yesterday and... It's a free to play MMORPG. and surprisingly enough so far I am enjoying it. Though I honestly feel that that will be rather short lived. I am only level 12 and tasks are already feeling more repetitive than Diablo 3 did in my second play through. That isn't a good sign. Also, though it is free to play it really likes to remind you that they will happily take your money. They even give you the option to buy in game currency in amounts up to $199.00 at a time for your convenience. SO PARENTS, HIDE YOUR PAYMENT OPTIONS, PASSWORD PROTECT THEM. Seriously though there are no refunds on digital purchases.

My other annoyance so far is the "Tyrannical Loot Chests" these lovely random drops are locked loot drops that tell you what you might get if you pay some real world money. I haven't bought any but I assume it's very much like when Destiny launched and that Grimoire jack ass would always show you purple and that shit would turn green. At least in that game you just bought the game and not every item in it.

Overall Neverwinter is pretty fun so far and worth looking into seeing as it is free. The achievement list is pretty scary to look at based on the kill 1000 of this and that achievements. I feel like there is going to be a ton of killing the same wolves in the forest outside of town going on. I would like the game much better if I could just spend the $59.99 I would have spent on the game anyway to buy the Sword of a Thousand Truths and run through the game super fast with out being bothered by every NPC trying to sell me something for real money.

I'll talk about Neverwinter more later in the week. I also played a very small amount of Pool Nation FX. I can confirm it is another game in which you play billiards. I can't tell much of a difference between that and Pure Pool which was already out on Xbox One. Because you know the Xbox needed a second option in billiards. But if you are a gold member you already own it so you may as well give it a shot.

No posts or video editing for me tomorrow since I am going to see Fast & Furious 7 as soon as I get off work. I'm really looking forward to it. The first movie is still my favorite of the franchise but the new crazy higher budget ones have all exceeded my expectations. People bag on them a lot for being nonsensical. but what action movie isn't. If you get done watching it this weekend and are feeling Paul Walker Nostalgic. Watch Running Scared. If you haven't seen it, it's easily his best acting performance and a purely bad ass movie as well.
